    If the Super Friends were a dance party, they’d be One Queer Roof, a collaboration between Formerly Known As, Chances Dances, Queerer Park, Stardust/CULT, and ASL Media. On top of being a queer dance party of epic proportions, proceeds from the event will be donated to Young Women’s Empowerment Project.

That means you had better get your queer ass over here that night and have the time of your life because I didn’t spend SIX MONTHS working to make you happy, just so you can sit at home and cry because Dick Clark’s face is horrifying. Are we all clear on what we’re doing then, yes? You will forsake whatever horrible, overpriced party you were thinking about attending and you will come here and if you are real lucky, I’ll kiss you for Newfoundland New Years Eve.

  8. Ladyfest Midwest Anniversary

    True Story: If it weren’t for Ladyfest Midwest I probably wouldn’t have moved to Chicago.

    This weekend is Ladyfest Midwest’s 10 year anniversary and there are several events taking place in Chicago to mark the occasion. There’s a great run down of everything up on Chicagoist. I’m DJing Saturday night at the Empty Bottle and couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the line-up.  The Wanton Looks, Cathy Santonies and Hollows (three of Chicago’s best underground bands according to Greg Kot) will all be performing and Jyl Fehrenkamp (from Poonie’s Caberet and the Fabulous Ladies of Fitness) is hosting. All proceeds from the Ladyfest Midwest anniversary events will go to Chicago Women’s Health Center.
